At present, Densu has 70 Shareholders and four members of the Board of Directors. Mr. Lovelace Prempeh is Chairman of the Board, Mrs. Lydia Fletcher Managing Director and Member, Mr. John Henry Martey Newman, Member and Mr. Valdo Abruquah, Member.
Lovelace Prempeh is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. Mr. Prempeh chairs the Board with a prestigious professional experience both in the United Kingdom and Ghana. Mr. Prempeh has worked for international firms such as PriceWaterhouse Coopers and KPMG as an Audit Manager.
He started his career at the Audit and Finance Department of the conglomerate EMI Group in London. In Ghana
Mr. Prempeh worked as Director of SCOA Ghana Limited. In 1988 Mr. Prempeh was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery where he spent 13years and helped to increase the production capacity of the Refinery. Mr. Prempeh holds an honours degree in Economics from Lancaster University. He is on several Boards including Financial Literacy Foundation, GCB Bank Ltd, TV3 Network Ltd.
Mrs. Lydia Fletcher joined Densu Industries Limited on the 2nd July, 1996 as an Accounts Officer. Before then, she worked for over four years with Global Computers and Security Systems Limited as a Cashier and an Accounts Officer. Mrs. Fletcher rose through the ranks by dint of hard work and dedication. Having started as an Accounts Officer, she was promoted after four years to the position of Accounts Supervsor.
In 2005 Mrs. Fletcher was appointed to the position of an Accounts Manager. By 2010 Mrs. Fletcher’s hard work, dedication and commitment paid off‑ when she was promoted as Finance Director which also earned her a position as a member of the Board of Directors. After acting as Managing Director for a year with excellence, Mrs. Fletcher was confirmed Managing Director in January 2012. She is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK and a student of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
John Henry Martey Newman is a barrister at law and was called to the Ghana Bar in 1976. Mr. Martey-Newman comes to the Board with a rich professional experience including serving as the Chief of Staff‑ of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills from 2009 - 2012.
Mr. Martey-Newman is an outstanding public servant with over thirty years service to the nation. He worked at the Ministry of Finance from 1969 to 1973 and was a sta‑ff of Ghana Cocoa Board from 1975 to 1992. He was later appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board from 1996 to early 2001.
He was Chairman of International Cocoa Organisations (ICCO) from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Martey Newman privately practiced and consulted for the Cocoa trade and industry from 2001 to 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Ghana. Mr.Martey-Newman also attended the Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA) and obtained postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration in 1971.
Mr. Valdo Abruquah is an Accountant and Marketer by profession. Mr. Abruquah has over 17 years’ experience in the marketing of Medical & Laboratory Equipment, Orthopedic instruments and implants, Medical and Laboratory Consumables and Consumer care products. Mr. Abruquah was one time Sales and Marketing Manager of Densu Industries Limited which makes him knowledgeable in the products and operations of the organisation. He is currently the Managing Director of Rochefauld Ghana Ltd, a company involved in the execution of Turn-key Hospital and Laboratory Projects for the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, National Blood Bank, Food & Drugs Authority and USAID.
